Business Challenge

The client was managing transportation, delivery updates, and customer communication through disconnected tools — a combination of spreadsheets, phone calls, and paper-based consignment notes. This resulted in:

  • Frequent delays due to lack of visibility across operations
  • Inaccurate delivery tracking and late ETAs
  • Manual handling of waybills and order documentation
  • Limited integration with warehouse and ERP systems

They needed a unified platform to automate and centralize dispatching, driver routing, customer tracking, and proof of delivery workflows — all while supporting integration with other logistics and supply chain tools.

Solution

The client operates a hybrid transportation network comprising both in-house vehicles and third-party carriers, with routes that change daily based on regional demand and order volume. Prior to the project, most operational activities were handled manually — dispatchers assigned routes by phone, drivers completed paper-based consignment notes, truck locations were tracked through calls, and customer inquiries were managed via the call center.

To streamline these processes, we developed a suite of integrated tools tailored to their logistics workflows. Drivers now receive route assignments through a mobile application, allowing them to update delivery statuses, submit proof of delivery (including photos or signatures), and report delays directly within the app. Real-time GPS tracking was introduced to reduce reliance on dispatcher check-ins and to provide accurate ETAs on both internal dashboards and customer interfaces.

On the customer side, the system enables users to place and monitor orders, track shipments in real time, and receive automated status updates—reducing the need for support calls. Internally, dispatchers can view vehicle availability, assign shipments, and oversee progress via a centralized control panel. The system also digitizes consignment notes, ensuring secure and accessible documentation for drivers, customers, and operations staff throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The solution was built around the client’s existing decision-making processes, replacing fragmented, paper-heavy steps with intuitive digital tools—without requiring a complete overhaul of their familiar workflows.
